Bluffton won the Northwest Conference golf tournament in an 18-hole tournament played at the Bluffton Golf Club in Bluffton on Thursday with a team total score of 340.  The first-place tournament finish also clinched the overall 2019 conference golf championship for the Pirates.

Delphos Jefferson (358) finished second in the tournament with Allen East (366) finishing third on the day.    Other tournament team totals were:  Paulding (372), Columbus Grove (374), Lincolnview (395), Ada  (404),  Crestview (414).

Drew Wilson, Bluffton senior, was the tournament medalist with a score of 81.  Runner-up medalist honors were earned by Owen Macke, Columbus Grove at 82.  Kenny Lovett of Bluffton and Logan Gallmeier tied for third-place medalist with each carding scores of 84.

Following today’s play, the tournament finish for each school was combined with their regular season finish to determine the final golf standings for the NWC for 2019.   Bluffton won both the regular season and tournament, and took first place with a perfect 16 points.  Allen East finished second with a total of 13 points.  Paulding and Jefferson tied for third with totals of 11 points each.  The other schools’ order of conference finish was Lincolnview (8), Columbus Grove (7), Ada (4),  Crestview (2).
