Spencerville hires new volleyball coach.
The Spencerville Board of Education hired Kari Wicker as its’ new head volleyball coach on 5/19. Wicker replaces Meghan Mohr who resigned after one season to accept a graduate assistant position at Bluffton University. Wicker is a 2001 graduate of Elida High School, 2010 and 2011 graduate of The Ohio State University Lima. She has been an assistant coach at Perry for the past five years and has also coached Bean City club teams for two years.
“We are very excited to have Kari as our next volleyball coach. Meghan did an outstanding job for us, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the program. She also worked hard at developing our youth program. Kari exhibits the same enthusiasm as Meghan, and also emphasizes the development of the younger kids. As much as we hated to lose Meghan, the similarities between Meghan and Kari should make for a smooth transition for our volleyball program. Spencerville’s Levi Krouskop will continue his education and play football and baseball for Manchester College.
Spencerville’s Levi Krouskop will continue his education and play football and baseball for NCAA Division III Manchester College in North Manchester, Indiana. Krouskop was a three-year letter winner in football, basketball and baseball for the Bearcats. He started at tight end and linebacker and was also the punter for the Bearcat football squad. He earned honorable mention NWC honors his senior year. He will play tight end and wing back for the Spartans. Levi was also a three-year letterman for the Bearcat baseball team. He is currently batting .375 with 2 HR’s, 10 RBI’s, and has scored 11 runs. He also has a 3-1 record as a starting pitcher. He will pitch and play first base at Manchester.
