2016 NWC Boys Soccer All-Conference Teams

boys_soccer_150Bluffton senior Antony Kingsley was voted the 2016 Northwest Conference “Player of The Year” in a vote at a meeting of conference boys’ soccer coaches held in Delphos.  Terry Sheridan, a junior from Ada, finished second in the balloting.  Steve Smucker of Bluffton was selected as “Coach of the Year” in the balloting.  Kingsley was a unanimous selection as player of the year in the voting where coaches could not vote for their own players.

2016 NWC Volleyball All-Conference Teams

volleyball_150Ada junior Melina Woods was voted the 2016 Northwest Conference “Player of The Year” at a meeting of conference volleyball coaches in Delphos.  Woods  also earned Player of the Year honors as a sophomore in last year’s balloting.  JaNahn Evans of Lincolnview was voted NWC Coach of the Year by her peers.  Ada finished the year as conference champs with a perfect 8-0 record in league play.

2016 NWC Cross Country Championships

Lincolnview won the boys’ championship and Columbus Grove  won the girls’ title in the Northwest Conference cross country meet run Saturday morning in Columbus Grove.  Crestview finished second in both races.   Columbus Grove (boys) and Lincolnview (girls) took third place finishes.  Junior High races were won by Columbus Grove (boys) and Crestview (girls).

Lincolnview’s Austin Elick ran the best individual time of 16:33 in winning the boys’ race and was voted by the coaches as NWC Male Runner of the YearBoone Brubaker (CG; 16:49) finished second with Austin Conrad (SV, 17:05) completing the race as the third place finisher.

Crestview’s Ashley Bowen (18:55) defeated two-time champion Taylor Ellerbrock (19:41)  of Columbus Grove in the girls’ race with a winning time of and was voted NWC Female Runner of the Year.  Grove’s Alyssa Ellerbrock (20:01) finished out the top three.

Lincolnview’s Matt Langdon was voted by the coaches as the Boys’ Coach of the Year with the honors for Girls’ Coach of the Year going to Grove’s Jason Jay.
