girls_basketball_150Ada senior guard Taylor Willeke was a clearcut choice as 2012-13 NWC Player of The Year in voting by Northwest Conference girls basketball coaches at the annual NWC selection meeting Monday night at Delphos Jefferson High School.  Willeke received 132 of a possible 135 first place points to earn POY honors over Allen East junior, Kaycee Rowe (114 points).

Willeke averaged 16.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game in leading the Bulldogs to a 7-2 conference record and a tie for second place in the NWC.

Willeke and Rowe were joined on the NWC First Team by Crestview’s Lindsey Motycka, Lincolnview’s Katie Dye and LCC’s Meredith Shepherd.

Greg Rickard, who led Crestview (9-0) to the school’s fourteenth NWC girls basketball title was selected as the NWC Coach of the Year.
