L.C.C. WINS THIRD STRAIGHT “DON BACHMAN AWARD”
Lima Central Catholic has won the fourth annual Northwest Conference “Don Bachman Award of Excellence” which recognizes the school in the conference that exhibits the highest level of consistent excellence in league-sponsored sports and scholastic bowl competition.

The award was started during the 2005-06 school year to honor longtime Northwest Conference commissioner/secretary, Don Bachman, who served in that position for more than thirty years before passing away late in 2005.

In capturing its third straight “Don Bachman Award,” Lima Central Catholic won outright conference titles in Golf, Boys Cross Country, Volleyball, Boys Basketball and Scholastic Bowl.

In the closest competition in the four years of this award, the next four schools – Crestview, Bluffton, Columbus Grove, and Delphos Jefferson – were separated by just 3.5 points.

Other NWC champions were Ada (Football), Allen East (Wrestling), Bluffton (Girls Track), Crestview (Girls Basketball, Baseball, Softball), and Spencerville (Girls Cross Country, Boys Track).
