Ada started early against Columbus Grove scoring once in the first and three in the third to set the tone. Ashley Wagner led off the game with a walk, moved to second on a single by Lindsay Simmons and to third on a single by Ashley Kindle. She scored on an RBI single by Amanda Fullom. Columbus Grove then settled down and did a nice job holding Ada to a lone run in the inning. Ada struck again in the third scoring 3 runs on 3 hits. The top of the batting order again came through. Simmons led off with a walk, moved to second on a single by Kindle and to third on a single by Sam Ring. She scored when Fullom earned a bases loaded walk. Tia Douce had an RBI single plating Kindle. Ring scored the final run of the inning when Erin Collins earned a bases loaded walk. Columbus Grove scored a run in the fourth on 2 hits. Ada came right back in the fifth by scoring its final run. Kendra Hall led off the inning with a walk, moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on an RBI single by Douce. Grove scored its final run in the sixth. We did a nice job defensively this evening. Kindle again pitched well. She gave up 6 hits and 2 runs, 1 earned. She used all of the plate tonight and struck out 11 to improve her record to 4-2 on the year. My assistant and I were concerned going into this game with the 12 day layoff. We were sluggish at the plate and swung at some bad pitches. We left the bases loaded in three innings (1st, 3rd, and 6th) and a total of 12 for the game. We need to stay focused and make better decisions. Ada will face Paulding at home on Monday.
