Game Summary:

Jefferson struck first in the second inning after hits by Ryan Kortokrax and Taylor Hesseling. Kortokrax scored on a ground ball by Craig Carder.

Perry came back in the 3rd inning with 13 runs (11 earned) on 4 hits, 2 errors, 4 walks, 2 hit batters and a balk.

Jefferson came back with 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Lead off hitter, Cory Bastian walked, and advanced on a wildpitch. Sean Fisher was hit by a pitch and advanced to second on a passed ball while Bastian scored. With one out, Josh Miller singled to left to score Fisher. Ryan Kortokrax singled to left field, Matt Gerdeman walked and Miller was out at the plate on a fielder’s choice for the second out. Kortokrax would later score on a passed ball.

Perry scored 2 more runs in the 4th inning after 2 walks for Drew Smith and Tanner Hunt which later turned into runs after a double by Shane Cockrell. Josh Miller came in to pitch to catch Kodee Kirchner looking at strike three.

The Wildcats picked up 2 more runs in the 4th inning after a single by Sean Fisher and a triple by Aaron Schuerman. Schuerman scored on a hit by Josh Miller.

Josh Miller pitched the 5th inning and retired the side in order.
The 5th inning proved to be the turning point when Jefferson knocked out 7 runs on 3 hits and 4 free passes. Craig Carder walked, Mike Rahrig reached on a fielders choice that could not beat the runner at 2nd base. After a fielder’s choice for the lead runner at 3rd, Sean Fisher walked to load the bases. Aaron Schuerman hit a ball to short which tried to get the runner (Mike Rahrig) out a home. Rahrig slide in to score. Josh Miller then drove in 2 more runs on a single to right field. Ryan Kortokrax reached first after being hit by a pitch and Matt Gerdeman reached on an infield hit. The bases were left loaded with a score of 15-13 going into the 6th inning.

Craig Carder went to the mound in relief of Miller and struck out the side.

The Wildcats gained the lead in the bottom of the 6th inning. Sean Fisher had an infield single down the 3rd base line to start the inning. He went to 2nd base on a wild pitch and later scored on a base hit by Aaron Schuerman. Josh Miller followed with a single to left. Ryan Kortokrax singled to knock in both Schuerman and Miller. With one out, Matt Antalis singled to right to score Kortokrax. The score was 17-15 going into the 7th inning.

Perry was unable to mount a comeback in the 7th as Carder again retired the side in order.
