Defending champion Delphos Jefferson scored a total of 271 points to take the 2016 Northwest Conference Wrestling Championship held at Paulding High School. Bluffton finished second in the tournament with 243 points while Allen East took third at 222 points. Jefferson’s title was their third overall NWC wrestling championship having previously won the league title in 2012 and 2015.

Allen East senior Brandon Soules (152) was named Wrestler of The Year in the NWC in a vote by the coaches.   Mike Wilson of Jefferson was voted by his peers as NWC Coach of The Year.

Repeat winners from last year included Brandon Soules(Allen East, 152), Chase Sumner (Ada, 132) and Luke Brown (Allen East, 145). Bluffton led the way with 4 individual champions while Jefferson and Allen East each had 3 individual champions in the tournament.
